Multiples

Gradius V is simply amazing. I finally spent a few hours with this game last night and I am now completely hooked. The thing is damn hard. Not quite Ikaruga hard -- I made it to the third chapter after 4 attempts -- but it's no pushover. The variety and control on multiples (those satellites orbiting Vic Viper) are sublime. I was also pleasantly surprised to hear some classic Life Force music nods

If you have any interest in arcade-style shooters, this is a must have.
